STAMP STUFF (SOME HELPFUL HINTS???)

I soon realised that the average album did not have the spaces for issues I wanted to collect.  So with the use of Word Perfect, Adobe Photoshop and a good scanner printer, I could customise my collections.  I did use commercial albums/pages for interest sake, i.e. to see what issues had been printed for mailing letters, etc.  One can purchase blank sheets on several qualities of stock, or, photo-copy card stock with your entries on them.  A few years back I had accumalated piles of stamps, on pages, on pieces, mint and used.  i opened an outlet and went to hobby shows and sold on eBay.

It seemed to me that if I had enough money I could buy just about any mint stamp I wanted.  However, to try and find a good used issue was a challenge.  The nice thing, too, was that a 'fine' stamp didn't look out of place and it was the acquisition of a 'very fine'  replacing it gave me the satisfaction.  The modern Postal Services were also a threat to my pocket book.  CTO's, uncut sheets, presentation packs have nothing to do with the mail/post.frown, so were the modern issues.  TRY TO FIND USED STAMPS FROM ABOUT 2000 ONWARDS!!!!!  Therefore, I chose dates that had some meaning for me.  GB - QEII -  Silver Jubilee, Canada - 1866 - 1996, (arrival in Canada), France - 1889 -1989, (Bastille Day),  USA - 1876 - 1976. (Bi-centennial).

UNIQUE PAGE DESIGN.

For this page, I selected the issues from a catalogue, designed a frame, and placed on a chosen page, captioned it with the help of Word Perfect and printed it

I just use Word Perfect as it was already installed on my first real PC (After Atari)

ALTERNATIVE TO HINGES AND PERSONALISED SHEETS

Using a stock book is also a method of displaying issues especially when you need to compare colours or postmarks, etc.

For many counntries one can find a CD for certain years, mostly at low cost. I have used iswwsc.org as a resource where you can also find pages to copy. Instead of using paper editions there are CD's. I have a Scotts 'g-i'
